Injection Moulding

Injection moulding is an alternative to conventional rubber moulding materials.

Injection moulding manufacturing methods we offer a range of high quality Thermoplastic Rubbers and Polyurethanes which can be processed with the efficiency and economy more usually associated with plastic components.

Injection moulding materials available include:

  • Polyproylene
  • TPE – Santoprene, Geolast, Evoprene, Vyram
  • TPU – Polyester, Polyether or Polycaprolactone Polyurethanes

The range of materials we are able to offer permits us to select a material to meet the specific product requirments.

Injection moulding materials are available to cover:

  • Hardness’ ranging from 30 Shore A to 60 Shore D
  • Temperatures from -50 C to + 140C

Grades available as alternatives to many rubbers including: EPDM, Butyl, Natural, Nitrile and Neoprene – some with FDA compliance.

Injection Moulding tooling is often thought to be prohibitive in cost but this is rarely the case, as our machines are able to utilise moulds which cost no more than conventional rubber moulds and in some cases, dependant upon component design, can cost far less.

A vast spread of products using these materials are now in common use in many industries. Some typical applications are given below.

Electrical/Electronic
Moulded connectors, Cable strain relief mouldings, Connector Boots,Seals,Buttons

White Goods & Houseware Appliances
Filter Seals, Sump Boots, Bellows, Wheel Tyres, Handles, Feet, Component Seals, Vibration Mounts.

Motor Industry
Grommets, Seals, Bushing, Gaskets, Body Plugs, Lamp Covers.

Fluid Delivery & Sealing
Pumps, Diaphragms, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Seals, Wipers, “O” Rings and Gaskets.

Food Industry
Diaphragms, valve seals, closure seals.
It is not possible in the space available to give a comprehensive list, as under the heading of General Industry, mouldings of every shape, colour and hardness are successfully in use.

If you have a possible application do not hesitate to contact us with the details to allow us to advise the best solution.

injection moulding tooling

This is an injection moulding tool manufactured in our own tool making facility for www.superfilt.com. The product is a polypropylene and cap matched to the customer’s specification.

Lead time for receipt of order for tooling to delivery of parts was completed in eight weeks, inclusive of tool manufacture, sampling and batch production.

Typical tooling for this type of product would be £4,000.00. Our price was sub £1,000.00.
